Paper conservation aims to repair, restore, clean and conserve all works of art on paper such as watercolours, prints (engravings, etchings, lithographs, silk screens etc) and drawings (graphite, charcoal, pastels etc). Also included are maps, documents, photographs,  posters and all kinds of paper ephemera such as labels tickets packaging etc. In fact all paper artefacts of any artistic historic or economic value can be considered for restoration. Though paper is a versatile material it is a fragile product and can easily suffer from damage and deterioration. Institutions, gallery owners,  private collectors and the guardians of family heirlooms are all concerned with the condition and value of their collections, however large or humble they may be.
